We are looking for comedy bits to be considered for the talent portion of the Telethon! variety show at the Nerdist Theater at Meltdown Comics in West Hollywood.
November’s charity is to raise money to “Save Harper Woods” from being demolished for plans of a mini mall. Harper Woods has a lot of controversy revolving around it, and some of the local people have properly nicknamed the historical section of town, “Murder Woods” because of… well, to be perfectly frank, a lot of people have been murdered there. But besides that, Harper Woods holds a lot of rich history that is worth saving.
Here are a few guidelines for writing scenes/bits within this world:
1.) Telethon! is a telethon satire based in the 1980′s.
2.) You don’t have to write around the specific charity that the telethon is raising money for that month, but if you’d like, it’s perfectly okay. Just make sure it fits in the 80′s genre.
3.) Write for the “talent” portion of the telethon. The creators will be writing the parts of the Telethon! host and interstitials.
Submissions are due October 31st, 2011. The next Telethon! will be Monday, December 5th.
